Times are changing, and with increased emphasis on the Internet and other social media outlets, the Public Relations industry is changing to meet new demands. According to a Georgia Trend article by Doug Monroe, PR is no longer working hard only to get the client's name in the newspaper or on the radio or television. Social media has taken precedence and many firms have created blogs or alternative ways of getting their clients on the Internet. Unfortunately, this also leaves a lot of room for false blogging, or "flogging," which has recently been revealed in a Georgia Trend article. The integrity of the Public Relations industry is in question, but with the Internet, getting away with printing false information is increasingly more difficult than it used to be.
